A fantastic start to your child's creative journey!

Music is a language that transcends all boundaries. It is a medium that connects people from different cultures and backgrounds, uniting them through shared experiences and emotions. This is why music is often referred to as the universal language. It is a form of expression that touches the hearts and souls of people from all walks of life.

From a very young age, children have a natural inclination towards music, and music lessons are the best way to help develop their singing and playing. They are often seen tapping their feet, clapping their hands, or humming a tune. This is because music has a unique ability to stimulate the brain and enhance cognitive development. It is essential to nurture this inclination and help children develop into well-rounded individuals.

The Yamaha Junior Music Course is an excellent way to empower children to explore and develop their musical abilities from a young age. The course is designed to provide a solid foundation in music theory and practice, which will enable students to achieve remarkable musicianship and go on to develop music composition skills. Children as young as 4.5 to 6.5 years old can embark on this creative journey, and it is a course that they can continue until their teenage years. Whether you are looking for a pre-school music class or a toddler music class, there are not many courses that are as comprehensive as the Yamaha Junior Music Course!

The Junior Music Course offered by our music school is designed to help children develop their musical abilities in a natural and expressive manner. The approach used in this course treats music as a language, which makes learning joyful and organic. This unique approach allows children’s creativity to flourish right from the start, and it helps them develop a deep love and appreciation for music.

The Yamaha Junior Music Course is not only about learning how to play an instrument or sing a song. It is about developing a deep understanding and appreciation for music. Students learn about the different types of music, their origins, and how they have evolved over time. They also learn about the different elements of music, such as melody, harmony, rhythm, and dynamics. But the real beauty of it is that the sessions are incredibly fun and stimulating, young children won’t even realise that it is a lesson!

One of amazing outcomes of the Yamaha Junior Music Course is to help children develop perfect pitch, which happens in approximately 50% of students that begin at age 4.5. Perfect pitch is the ability to identify and reproduce musical notes without any external reference. It is a rare skill that only a few people possess, but it can be developed through proper training and practice. The course provides students with a range of exercises and activities that help them develop their sense of pitch and improve their ability to recognise and reproduce musical notes.

Our Yamaha Junior Music Course is structured to provide a solid musical foundation for children. The curriculum includes lessons in music theory, ear training, and instrumental performance. Children will learn how to read music, play an instrument, and understand the different elements of music, such as rhythm, melody, and harmony.

Harmony is another critical aspect of music that the Junior Music Course emphasises. Harmony is the combination of different musical notes played or sung simultaneously, creating a rich and complex sound. Our music teachers show students how to identify and create harmonies, which is an essential skill for any musician. Understanding harmony enables musicians to create more complex and beautiful music, adding depth and texture to their compositions.

Music is not just an art form; it is a way of life. It has the power to inspire, uplift, and heal. It is a medium through which people can express their deepest emotions and connect with others. Learning music at a young age is an investment in the future. It is a gift that will stay with children for a lifetime, providing them with a source of joy and fulfilment.
